This explains rape perfectly.

Button poetry is something I watch quite often.

I recently came across this video and it's something worth watching. Rapist are always talked about being strangers, in unsafe places. Rapist are never said it could be a person you love and trust. A very powerful message. This to me, shows that there is some light finally shun on the fact that the people you trust most can sometimes do monstrous things.
No one ever gives thought to a rapist being someone they know, most men and women think rapist are normally found at parties, drugging drinks of young men and women, people who wait in dark alleyways while you're on your way home. No one ever tells you that even your closest friends or family could have the potential to do harm.

It also shines light on the fact that society teaches what to do when you are raped, or someone else is raped. You can go to the hospital, you can file a police report or not, it tells you how long you can wait to file, how long they hold evidence, what medications you need, etc.
Society never teaches the emotional aspect of it. It never tells you who to contact when you have been emotionally stripped, destroyed and humiliated. No one ever tells you that some of the feelings you may encounter are normal, and that you can some day over-come them.

It's important to teach society both the emotional damage of rape & the fact that it can be caused by ANYBODY, not just strangers in the dark.
